The film is about the demise of the 1980’s Lakers, and is titled “Showtime” at the moment.
Al Pacino will make a near-perfect Pat Riley. They look identical and both go about their business with great intensity. The news comes shortly after it was announced that Robert De Niro will star as Vince Lombardi in ESPN’s first big screen film.
According to Flicksided.com the movie could play out Riley’s move to New York and Magic Johnson dealing with AIDS.
CGI will be used to make Pacino appear younger since the movie takes place in the 80’s. A search on IMDB.com didn’t reveal any details of the movie, but hopefully new information will arise shortly.
