Shaq’s Dance-Off Vs Justin Bieber

Shaq Vs has officially premiered, which means we’re that much closer to seeing a Shaq-Bieber dance-off.

Raw video footage has emerged of Shaq prepping for his contest with the pop star. He joined Bieber’s dance crew to try and learn some dance routines, prior to the actual dance-off, I assume.

I guess if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. He even gets his jumpshot involved when he starts to freestyle. Watch below.

The post-World Cup U.S. soccer team will face Brazil in an international friendly on August 10, and have one newcomer to the roster.

The new face, Jermaine Jones, is German-born but has an American father which allows him to play for the U.S. national team.

The most interesting part about Jones is not his dual-citizenship, but his official website, which has to be the most creative website I’ve ever seen.

Is this guy a soccer player or an undercover superhero?

First thought that comes to mind when I see the background on the home page? The fourth level on the movie Inception, aka “limbo.” Any other movie-goers agree? The similarity is almost uncanny, could even make a comparison to The Matrix trilogy as well.

Granted a portion of the website is in German, but I almost didn’t notice as a result of the insane imagery.

President Barack Obama continues to make history, even if it has nothing to do with his political campaign, by becoming the first president to attend a WNBA game.

Mr. President attended a game between the hometown Washington Mystics and the Tulsa Shock. All of the WNBA haters out there will be happy to know that the first shot of the game was airballed.

Sasha Obama accompanied her father, sporting an Alana Beard Mystics jersey. We know the president has some basketball skills of his own, maybe his daughter is the future of the WNBA.

Obama has still yet to attend a game of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the city’s most successful franchise, to the dismay of the D.C. residents. I would be surprised if he doesn’t make an appearance during the upcoming season.

We know the Canadian masses love hockey, and so do the Candian musicians, apparently.

Canadian hip-hop artist K-os released a music video for his song “Zambony,” featuring him rapping from a hockey arena while cutting to different shots of hockey players putting on their gear.

Hayden Christensen, aka mature Anakin Skywalker, stars in the video as well in what looks like a role as the bodyguard of K-os.

Say what you will about the song, but the video itself is pretty cool. Hat tip to Terez Owens for the video.

Shaq Goes on Jimmy Kimmel Live

There aren’t many scenarios in sports off the field that are more entertaining than an unscripted Shaquille O’Neal in action, so I would imagine the producers at Jimmy Kimmel Live jump at every opportunity to have him on the show.

Shaq went on to promote his TV series Shaq Vs, which is in its second season. The show centers around the big man challenging the best of the best at whatever their respective specialty is.

I think it’s safe to say that the spelling bee episode at the very least will be entertaining. Watch the interview below, divided into two parts.

I recently mentioned that Alex Rodriguez will be making his acting debut in the movie “Friends with Benefits,” and filming has started with a bang.

It appears that baseball won’t be the only sport included in the film, as co-stars Justin Timberlake and Woody Harrelson recently shot some scenes for the movie while on the basketball court.

It appears that not every celebrity has converted their basketball fandom to the Miami Heat, although the Lakers bandwagon is just as loaded as ever.

Harrelson did “Semi-Pro” with Will Ferrell a couple of years back, a satirical movie about the ABA’s demise. Hopefully his skills have improved since then.

It seems like music videos with sports stars these days are all the rage, but rapper Dorrough has changed the game by featuring Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in his latest video.

Dorrough, a Dallas native, has released the music video for his song “Get Big,” and we all know there’s nothing Mark Cuban would rather do.

Can’t say I’m surprised that Cuban makes his entrance during a reference to money. Of course, the whole song is pretty much a reference to money, so maybe the timing was by chance.

Watch Mark Cuban “Get Big” in his debut music video appearance below. He shows up around the :45 second mark.

When it comes to obsessions, hockey is often the source for most Canadians. Rush bassist and lead singer Geddy Lee, however, obsesses over America’s pastime as opposed to the fastest game on ice.

Lee recently did an interview with ESPN, and the subject of fantasy baseball arose. He calls himself a “huge devotee of the hobby,” and goes on to name the studs and duds of his roster. I’m impressed.

On June 5, 2008, Lee donated his entire collection of almost 200 autographed Negro League baseballs to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City.

The above photo is of Lee at a Toronto Blue Jays game. Not sure how many celebrities the Bluebirds usually attract, but I doubt they’re at the Yankees level.

Rapper Rick Ross has already declared himself the next Jack Nicholson, and will look to make a name for himself as the Miami Heat’s biggest fan. Post-arrival of James/Bosh, of course.

Fellow hip-hop artist Flo Rida apparently supports the Heat as well, releasing a song called “We Already Won,” featuring rhymes centered around the Heat’s trio.

If you ask me that’s a bold statement, but judging from his musical moniker I would assume Flo Rida is a big fan of Florida. Somewhere Jay-Z is shaking his head in disgust…or maybe that’s amusement.

Listen to the song and watch Dwyane Wade posterize Anderson Varejao below.

Shaq Serenades Justin Bieber

Now that Terrell Owens has been claimed, Shaquille O”Neal is undisputedly the biggest name remaining on the free-agent market of washed-up future hall of famers in any professional sport.

So with some time on his hands the Big Aristotle made his way down to one of his old team’s cities, Phoenix, where a certain teen pop sensation was performing a concert.

Not being one to back away from a once in a lifetime opportunity, Shaq made his way to the soundcheck before the concert and got a chance to show Justin Bieber his vocal skills.

I won’t be the one to judge the big fella’s talent, but I was able to surmise the following from the minute-long video: Shaq loves Justin Bieber just as much as any pre-teen girl in America.
