The Chicago Cubs had their home opener on Monday, which means a big name to throw out the first pitch. The Cubbies went with actor and big Cubs fan Bill Murray, great choice right?

Turns out Murray had other plans, as the Ghostbusters star was a no-show. Instead, the Sluga  family was picked out of the crowd by owner Tom Ricketts to replace him.

One would think after hearing that the Cubs were bringing in a team psychologist to help their woeful, league-worst batting average, he would be encouraged to come.

Last time I saw Bill Murray he was impersonating a zombie in the movie “Zombieland,” so let’s hope this doesn’t mean his career is taking a turn for the worst.
